Major automakers mostly produce cars for consumer use, as a daily driver is what a lot of people are looking for when they buy a brand new car. Fleet automobiles, though, are a large part of the sales from major auto manufacturers. Rental vehicles must be made, also as vans and trucks for transportation purposes. There is a more interesting type of fleet vehicle, that is part of myth and legend. That is the law enforcement interceptor. There is not a large car firm that does not make a police vehicle. Police interceptors are forbidden fruit to the general public, and also the new interceptors being created by Ford and Dodge look especially awesome.
Ford Motors reveals brand new interceptors
Ford is retiring a mainstay among police cruisers. As a result, Ford is introduction two brand new interceptor models. The Crown Victoria, the rear wheel drive V-8 police cruiser, will no longer be made, so Ford is offering two brand new interceptor models. There can be Ford Motors Explorer and Ford Taurus interceptor models. The law enforcement Taurus will be powered by a turbo charged V-6 that can produce 365 horsepower, along with necessary upgrades for police such as greater cooling capacity, enhanced transmission and suspension, and a sturdier frame. The Explorer shares a lot of components with the Taurus, as does the new generation of Explorers.
Dodge Quest
Dodge and Chevrolet are rolling out new police interceptors also. Though Chargers are already being bought by police departments, the new Dodge Charger Pursuit model is being introduced soon. According to the Wall Street Journal, the Pursuit could be a rear wheel drive model of the Charger that will come with a turbo V-6 or a V-8, as well as other law enforcement accouterments for instance a beefed-up suspension and stability controls. Chevrolet, meanwhile, is coming out with a new Caprice that will only be made for police applications.
does pay
Police vehicles are actually more profitable than other fleet car counterparts, however law enforcement cars also have to be made to more demanding specifications. Modern law enforcement cruisers have to be able to accommodate lots of electronic equipments. The must also perform very well and consistently. The car must be comfortable also. Someone has to be in one for hours.
